All About Reiki Healing Energy

Reiki, pronounced “ray-key,” is a Japanese healing technique developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui. The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese words: “Rei,” meaning universal, and “Ki,” meaning life energy. This universal life energy flows through all living beings, and Reiki is the practice of channeling this energy to promote balance and well-being.Usui’s teachings were based on ancient Buddhist texts and his own spiritual insights. He believed that by attuning to this energy, practitioners could support healing on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.
So What is Reiki?
Reiki is a non-invasive healing practice that uses gentle touch or hands placed just above the body to channel life force energy. The practitioner serves as a conduit, allowing energy to flow through their hands to the recipient. This energy helps release blockages, promote relaxation, and restore harmony within the body’s energy system.
Reiki operates on the principle that the body is an energetic system. When energy flows freely, we experience physical, emotional, and spiritual health. However, stress, trauma, and negative experiences can create blockages that disrupt this flow. So Why Should You Try Reiki?

So, What Should I Expect Post Reiki Session?
After a Reiki session, it’s common to feel deeply relaxed and refreshed. Some people experience emotional releases, such as feelings of joy or even tears, as energy blockages are cleared. Others might notice improved sleep, increased energy, or a heightened sense of intuition in the days that follow.It’s essential to drink plenty of water, rest as needed, and allow your body to integrate the healing. Journaling about your experiences can also provide insights into your journey.
Not everyone experiences bliss after a Reiki session. Reiki can never do any harm. It’s doesn’t have any contraindications. Yet, after you receive Reiki you can experience a rebalancing process. During rebalancing you may feel tired, experience unpleasant physical sensations, or feel angry or anxious. Although it doesn’t feel like it at the time, what you’re experiencing is beneficial. If you’re tired after receiving Reiki it’s mostly likely because you’ve been overdoing and your adrenal glands are overworked. The tiredness is encouraging you to stop, practice self-care. Soaking in epsom salt, drinking plenty of water, journaling, and instilling boundaries are all helpful if you're experiencing this. Reach out to your practitioner for extra support.
